The Family Peace Center’s future home will be named the Puri Family Peace Center in recognition of the Foundation’s $2 million capital campaign commitment. The gift is the largest single private donation the organization has received and brings campaign fundraising to more than $9.5 million.

The foundation’s capital support will improve access to services and resources that help survivors and their families find safety, meet essential needs and build toward greater independence.

“Our family’s commitment is to the safety and long-term stability of survivors and their families. Every person in our community deserves access to resources that empower them to move forward. The new Puri Family Peace Center building will advance the excellent work already underway, bringing additional services under one roof to provide coordinated and enduring support for all.”

Coordinated services under one roof.

When completed, the nearly 50,000-square-foot building will house services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families. Alongside Family Peace Center staff, partner agencies will provide co-located support including housing and employment assistance, counseling, medical appointments, childcare and legal advocacy.

The Carrie Lynn Children’s Center and MERIT, a program of the UIC College of Medicine Rockford, will move their full operations into the building, strengthening collaboration for child survivors of abuse and neglect and their families.

Construction is underway, with completion estimated for November 2027 and services expected to begin in early 2028.

Ensure every domestic abuse survivor has enough safe space to begin their journey of healing, health, and wholeness.
