Puri Family Peace Center
A $2 million capital campaign commitment will create a new home for the Family Peace Center at 214 N. Church Street in Rockford.
The nearly 50,000-square-foot building will bring services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families under one roof, including housing and employment assistance, counseling, medical care, childcare and legal advocacy.
Construction is underway. Completion is estimated for November 2027, with services expected to begin in early 2028.
Puri School of Business
At Rockford University, the Puri School of Business connects education with career opportunity. A $5 million monetary and building pledge established the school in 2014, creating a home for business, economics and accounting programs.
The school combines classroom learning with practical experience, internships and community engagement to prepare students for work and leadership.
Puri Family YMCA
The 2015 donation of the Puri Family YMCA building, valued at $2.25 million, helped expand access to spaces for recreation, wellness and connection in Rockford.
Today, the facility offers fitness and youth programming, giving children, families and neighbors a place to learn, move and spend time together.
Keeling-Puri Peace Plaza
The Keeling-Puri Peace Plaza is a gathering place that celebrates cultural understanding, nonviolence and the ties that connect people. It reflects a shared belief in the value of peace within a diverse community.
The Plaza has hosted Rockford’s International Day of Peace observances since 2003, bringing people together for reflection, learning and celebration.
